West Sussex County Council is responsible for maintaining all of the roads in West Sussex except the A27 and M23/A23 (motorways and trunk roads), which are maintained by the Highways Agency. West Sussex Highways is a joint team from West Sussex County Council and Balfour Beatty Living Places who monitor, maintain and improve the highway network.
